Paul Kagame, tổng thống nước Cộng hoà Rwanda, sẽ có bài nói vào 5 giờ chiều, thứ sáu, 16/9 tại Rangos Ballroom, Trung tâm đại học, về chiến lược của Rwanda để tiếp tục tăng trưởng trong kinh tế toàn cầu, vai trò của nó như người lãnh đạo Đông Phi trong công nghệ thông tin và truyền thông, và vai trò cộng tác mà Carnegie Mellon sẽ đóng để giúp nước ông ấy tiếp tục xây dựng nền kinh tế dựa trên tri thức. 

Trước bài nói của ông ấy, Kagame và chủ tịch của Carnegie Mellon Jared L. Cohon sẽ công bố rằng Carnegie Mellon sẽ cung cấp chương trình bằng kĩ nghệ phần mềm ở Kigali, Rwanda, bắt đầu vào cuối năm 2012. CMU cũng sẽ cung cấp chương trình Thạc sĩ về khoa học trong quản lí công nghệ thông tin. Bên cạnh đó, Carnegie Mellon University sẽ cộng tác với chính phủ Rwanda để phát triển vườn ươm phát kiến, chương trình đào tạo thực hành tiên tiến, chương trình đào tạo quan chức điều hành và trung tâm nghiên cứu di động.

CMU helps rebuild Rwanda with Information technology

RWANDAN PRESIDENT TO SPEAK FRIDAY; CMU PARTNERS WITH RWANDA

Paul Kagame, president of the Republic of Rwanda, will deliver a speech at 5 p.m., Friday, Sept. 16 in Rangos Ballroom, University Center, about Rwanda’s strategy for continued growth in the global economy, its role as East Africa’s leader in information and communication technology, and the collaborative role that Carnegie Mellon will play to help his country continue to build its knowledge-based economy. 

Prior to his talk, Kagame and Carnegie Mellon President Jared L. Cohon will announce that Carnegie Mellon will offer a software engineering degree programs in Kigali, Rwanda, beginning in fall 2012. CMU will also offer a Master of Science in Information Technology Management program. In addition, CarnegieMellonUniversity will collaborate with the Government of Rwanda to develop an innovation incubator, advanced practical training programs, executive education programs and a mobility research center.
