CMU (lại) được U.S news & Report xếp hạng số # 1 trong khoa học máy tính. (Có 4 đại học được xếp hạng số # 1 bởi vì tất cả họ đều có cùng điểm:  Stanford, Viện công nghệ Massachusetts (MIT) và Đại học California tại Berkeley)
