Đáp: Ngày nay hầu hết việc phát triển phần mềm đều hội tụ vào những ứng dựng chạy trên các thiết bị di động như điện thoại thông minh và máy tính bảng. Có nhiều việc làm cho người phát triển phần mềm có kĩ năng app di động và ở khắp thế giới, cầu là cao hơn cung. Tôi đã viết nhiều bài về app di động trong blog này, xin xem lại chúng. Về căn bản có hai nền di động phổ biến:  iOS của Apple (iPhone và iPad) và Android của Google (phần lớn điện thoại thông minh) cho nên vấn đề là tuỳ ở bạn chọn cái nào để học.

Để phát triển app cho iPhone hay iPad, bạn cần dùng ngôn ngữ viết mã Objective-C và khuôn khổ Cocoa. Bạn cũng cần dùng một IDE (môi trường phát triển tích hợp) có tên là Xcode và nó chạy trên Mac, cho nên bạn sẽ cần mua một máy Mac để phát triển app iOS. Để phát triển một app cho điện thoại thông minh, hay app Android, bạn có thể dùng ngôn ngữ Java và học Bộ trình phát triển ứng dụng phần mềm Android, chạy trên PC của bạn. Bạn cũng cần dùng một IDE như Eclipse. Có các nền di động khác như Windows 8 hay Blackberries nhưng chúng không phổ biến.

Cách tốt nhất để học về xây dựng app cho iPhone và iPad là đi lên trung tâm iOS Dev Center của Apple nơi công ti cung cấp tài nguyên trực tuyến từ hướng dẫn cho người mới bắt đầu, bài học, videos và tài liệu. Bạn không phải trả tiền gì để học vì Apple muốn bạn viết apps cho họ (Tất nhiên bạn phải có máy Mac) và đi theo đường dẫn này: https://developer.apple.com/devcenter/ios/index.action

Để phát triển app cho Android, bạn cũng có thể đi tới trung tâm đào tạo người phát triển Android. Có hàng loạt bài báo giúp ban làm ra app đầu tiên của bạn, bắt đầu từ điều cơ bản  tới điều chuyên sâu: http://developer.android.com/training/index.html

Cũng có nhiều đào tạo trực tuyến trên You Tube bởi những cá nhân mà bạn có thể học từ họ. Có những cuốn sách về lập trình di động sẵn có trong nhiều ngôn ngữ mà bạn có thể mua. Tuy nhiên cách tốt nhất để học lập trình di động là làm nó. Bạn sẽ phạm sai lầm và học nhiều hơn từ chúng. Bạn có thể mất vài tuần để học điều cơ bản nhưng nếu bạn đưa nỗ lực vào, bạn sẽ phát triển các kĩ năng lập trình di động trong vài tháng và sẵn sàng cho việc làm trong công nghiệp.

Mobile programming

A Computer Science student wrote to me: “According to your blog, mobile programming is the future but my school does not teach mobile programming. Where can I learn this skill? I need to have a job when I graduate. Please help.”

Answer: Today most software developments are focusing on applications that run on mobile devices like smartphones and tablets. There are many jobs for software developer with mobile app skills and all over the world, the demand is higher than the supply. I have written several articles about mobile apps in this blog, please review them. Basically there are two popular mobile platforms:  Apple’s iOS (iPhone and iPad) Google’s Android (Most smartphones) so it is up to you to select which one to learn.

To develop an app for iPhone or iPad, you need to use the Objective-C coding language and the Cocoa framework. You also need to use an IDE (integrated development environment) called Xcode and it only runs on the Mac, so you will need to buy a Mac to develop iOS app. To develop an app for other smartphones, or Android apps, you can use Java language and learn the Android Software Development Kit, which runs on your PC. You also need to use an IDE such as Eclipse. There are other mobile platforms such as Windows 8 or Blackberries but they are not popular.

The best way to learn about how to build iPhone and iPad apps is go to Apple’s iOS Dev Center where the company provide online resource from starter guides, tutorials, videos and documentation. There are also several online trainings on You Tube by individuals that you can learn from them. There are books on mobile programming available in many languages that you can buy. However the best way to learn mobile programming is to do it. You will make mistakes and learn more from them. It probably takes you few weeks to learn the basics but if you put in your efforts, you will develop the mobile programming skills in few months and ready for a job in the industry.
